I just got my mpx220 yesterday and have already started installing programs and customising it. I don't know if this has been brought up before, but I haven't come across it in my searches.

This lets you have a different external LCD display between flip-open and flip-closed.

1. You need to prepare your two images. The one for flip-closed can be .jpg, but flip-open must be .bmp format. They must be 96x64 pixels (resolution of ExtLCD).

I would place them in the \Storage\My Documents\ExtLCD\ folder.

2. Use Mobile Registry Editor (http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/2005/1/Mobile_Registry_Editor.aspx)

and set:

'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\ExternalLCD\FlipLogo' to '1'.

I think this key is for carriers to show their logo when flip is open, mine showed Motorola before.

Setting to '0' uses the flip-closed image for both.

3. Set registry value:

'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\ExternalLCD\FlipLogo' to location of flip-open image.

Ex:

\Storage\My Documents\ExtLCD\flipopen.BMP

4. Set registry value:

'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\ExternalLCD\BgImage' to location of flip-open image.

Ex:

\Storage\My Documents\ExtLCD\flipclosed.JPG

This value can actually be set in under Start->Settings->Phone Settings->Ext. LCD Background Image

I think thats all I discovered in my little foray into the registry..enjoy!
