Hi here is how I did to use a third party gps with tomtom in my smartphone :D : * in bluetooth settings 1- pair devices (settings / connections / bluetooth / devices) 2- right menu / com ports / select device / menu again, new outgoing port 3- select "com 6", validate (afaik M3100 is PDA phone, so menus can differ from smartphone, but principe is the same) * in tomtom mobile 5 1- click left soft button to access menu 2- "5-preferences" 3- navigate to page 4 in preferences 4- "1- view GPS state" 5- left menu configure (or settings) 6- select other bluetooth gps validate and wait a minute :D Edited August 26, 2006 by scudo

Guest jimbouk Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 In tom tom use whichever com port number you create in BT settings.
Guest matho Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 In tom tom use whichever com port number you create in BT settings. Just installed TTN 5.21 at the weekend and it works no problem. I'm using a Holux 236 as the GPS receiver and the 2 devices seem to work well together over bluetooth. Tips: - Pair the 2 devices over bluetooth before you run TomTom. (Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > Devices > New Partnership) - Once paired, set up an Outgoing Port as a Serial interface on a COM port - I used COM0 (Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > COM Ports > New Outgoing Port) - In TomTom, you should then see 'COM0' (or whatever port number you set up) as a selectable option when configuring your GPS device. Hope that helps!

But TomTOm gets as far as asking which map to use and then dies! Oh well - never mind!
Guest RED-B Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I have a Orange SPV M600 running TomTom Navigator 5.0. I have a Holox Bluetooth GPS receiver. The phone pairs with the receiver fine but only allows Com 6 or 7 as an outgoing port. TomTom only allows Ports 0,2,3 and 9 as selectable ports hence I cant get TT to see the GPS. Im about to throw them out the window. Any ideas anyone? I have tried installing v5.21 and WM5GPSFIX both of which havnt worked.
