Getting rid of the orange homescreen

Dunno if this is normal, but basically I hate the orange home screen. I Just want the normal microsoft one that was on my old M500

BUT

I went into today and changed it to microsoft default and nothing happened. It changed the background but the same crappy orange interface is there, you know the side bar with the pop-out menus. Can this be changed, I really dont see why it can't but my phone doesnt seem to be able to.
