Internet speed as a laptop Modem

Hi guys

been playing with the vario 2 for few days now, and im very impressed, had a mda pro previous to that. I have web n walk pro, on the phone i get upto 1.2MB internet speed which is what i expect dure to HSDPA, but when i connect the phone to laptop as amodem via usb or blueetoth i get 364KB (the 3G speed).

Why is there a difference in speed? maybe im doing something wrong.

any help would be much appreciated.

Are you sure thats the real speed you are getting - ie have you tested it with a speedtest site? I only ask as I used to get a modem speed reported of 128 when I connected over a gprs connection (as that is what I told it to connect at - ie the laptop was taking the speed from the modem setting not from the actual throughput).

Also bear in mind that if your PC doesn't have a Bluetooth 2.0 adapter then you'll be limited to less-than-HSDPA speeds via Bluetooth. How much less depends on how efficient the bluetooth data transfer protocol is, which I don't know enough about to be able to quantify.
