BT, In-car, Signal Strength

I have connected my sp3i to my built in bt in-car handsfree. it works great with all other phones but with this one i do not get the phones network signal strength coming up on my cars displays. the rest of the connection works fine to make and reciave calls but no network signal strenght. Any ideas????
