Vodafone V1240 -> I-mate SP5

Follow this to upgrade the firmware

. Upgraded to Vodafone's 2.0 version AKU firmware

. Disable the registry key for Application lock - changed from "2" to "1"

. Using SPV-Services changed the "CID" to "1111111"

. Downloaded the i-mate SP5's ROM - NRE (or WWE) from clubimate.com

. Run the setup; copy the expanded file (contains 4) files to different folder & cancel the setup

. Using TyphoonNBFTool changed the CID to "1111111"

. Run the setup from from the changed location; upgrade the ROM

My carrier is Cingular, I had very bad signal receiption when I had Vodafone firmware and also with i-mate firmware.

. I had to create an regkey as "PreferredDisable" and set it to 1

. Registered my IMEI number with Cingular

It took about a week time before my signal level came back normal.
