Guest noxiousneo Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Hi all, I configured push email on my phone (following a coolsmartphone.com guide) and was told I would only be charged by the amount of data that was sent to/from my phone, not for the duration of the connection to GPRS. However, I checked my credit to see whether this was true and every time I checked, it had decreased. This is the same for my regular email; the longer my phone takes to connect the more I am charged. Is this normal for a Orange UK PAYG customer? Many Thanks, Mat
Guest spacerace Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 you are being charged by the amount of data. with push email there is a constant connection to the server and even when there are no messages a small amount of data is used, and thereofe may affect your PAYG balance - shouldn't be much though. obviously when a message gets sent this will use more credit. with orange PAYG there is an option for unlimited data until midnight that day for
