Orange PAYG GPRS Charges on SPV c600 (for push email)

Hi all,

I configured push email on my phone (following a coolsmartphone.com guide) and was told I would only be charged by the amount of data that was sent to/from my phone, not for the duration of the connection to GPRS. However, I checked my credit to see whether this was true and every time I checked, it had decreased.

This is the same for my regular email; the longer my phone takes to connect the more I am charged.

Is this normal for a Orange UK PAYG customer?

you are being charged by the amount of data. with push email there is a constant connection to the server and even when there are no messages a small amount of data is used, and thereofe may affect your PAYG balance - shouldn't be much though. obviously when a message gets sent this will use more credit.

with orange PAYG there is an option for unlimited data until midnight that day for
