Guest Criptonite Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I have an O2 XDA Exec with Windows Mobile 5.0 I use Outlook 2003 for my tasks. I want to stop the personal tasks that I store on my XDA from syncing with my office PC/Outlook. I still want business related tasks to sync and update automatically. Is this possible? Dave

Dave Dave, not aware of any way to actually stop the personal tasks synching using ActiveSync 4.1. (Will be interested to know if anyone has seen such a feature in the 4.2 Beta?) The best I can offer is the following work around which will hide them on your PC keeping them out of your way and away from the prying eyes of colleagues. It takes about two minutes to set up. On your PC right click one of the Headers (Subject, Due Date etc) in Task view and use the Field Chooser to add 'Sensitivity' if it is not already there. Now right click the Header bar again and this time select 'Customise Current View'. Click the 'Filter' button and select the 'Advanced' tab. Now click the 'Field' button and from the 'Frequently Used Fields' list select 'Sensitivity'. Set the 'Condition' to 'not equal to' and the 'Value' to 'Private'. (I use Private rather than Personal 'cos it's easy to just tick the box in the bottom right corner of any new task). Click OK twice to return to the original task view. Now simply go through your tasks setting the sensitivity to 'Private' as needed and as you do they will disappear. When all are done you can go back to the field chooser as per step 1 and remove the sensitivity column. The only time you should ever know the private tasks are there is if you set one to give you a reminder during the working day. Not a perfect solution but I hope it helps. Paul.
Guest Appetite4 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Dave, (Will be interested to know if anyone has seen such a feature in the 4.2 Beta?) Oops! LOL - didn't realise 4.2 was out of beta. Must pay more attention! Anyway just run it up on my machine and still can't see how to do what you ideally want Dave Paul.
Guest Criptonite Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Thanks for that, Paul, I haven't tried it yet but it seems a good work around.
