Guest Wombleuk Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Just tried it and it looks quite good, but I wouldn't use it for the following reasons. 1. My position on the little world map was 1000 miles north of where I was. 2. You have to manually start and stop bluetooth every time you start the app. 3. You have to search for your bluetooth device manually, every time you start the app. 4. There should be a world map supplied (or available) with its reference cordinates already set. Nitpicking, I know, but in my opinion, anything that can be done by a computer, should be. I'm past the novelty geek value of a playing around with software and setting it up. Nowadays, I just want it to work.

The little world map in the main "GPS Info" is only for a VERY BRIEF display purpose, it does not affect or relate to any other views' accuracy. But thanks for pointing it out, we will imporve it in the next version. 2. So far, we have not yet found a generic way of starting and stopping "system" Bluetooth, due to the fact that there exists different Bluetooth stacks. Most other GPS programs also facing the same problem, we are looking into it however... 3 & 4. Thanks! These will definitely be included in the next release! :D

BTW Tomtom switches BT on/off itself, if it helps.
Guest babeny2001 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 looks good, some hints what I miss 1. loading bigger map funcionality - 10 MB cannot be loaded because of out of memory. 321Kb file also had same problem. Also . Maybe usage of some memory efficient custom format could be used for these files (prepared on PC - like gpsdash or oziexplorer) 2. auto switching between maps - moving map functionality (could not test as I couldnt load map) 3. logging intervals - beside time intervals also distance intervals would be fine. Anyway for version 1.0 perfect  good work!
Guest nashash Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Wow, this really does seem like a very neat and easy to use application. I'm very impressed. I know this is my own personal preference, but I prefer to have the speed be easier to read while on the 'main screen.' I feel that the time/date is not as essential, but I can understand when it would be useful. Just my thoughts. If I buy a license now, will it be applicable towards future updates/upgrades?
