HTC Hermes Extended ROM

Hi

ive just recently got my Vario II and am new to the PPC world in general

Ive downloaded most of the free software in the hermes forum thread.

and its opened up the extended rom part which gives me about 6 mb to play with

my question is do i treat this part (the extended rom bit) as if it was normal memory on the phone ie for installing programs etc etc or do i treat it more like my memory card ie only put large programs that will work on here etc etc or something else

please let me know

Also been using UPX4PPC or that file compression proggie also in the free hermes software thread and does a program perform slower if it is compressed have done this with the virtual earth exe so far and seems the same
