Guest Wudang Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 To try and regain some storage memory I'm looking to remove some programmes which after the first flush of excitement I've not been using. What is the recommended/cleanest way to remove a programme which doesn't appear in "remove programs" e.g. GPRS Traffic Monitor, Mobipocket, and Total Commander to name just a few.
Guest grumpy_old_technobyte Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 If you want to remove programs that you've installed and that taking up Program Memory as well as Storage just goto Settings and Remove Programs. If these are cabs and exe's that are sitting in storage and not actually installed, just goto either File manager and delete 'em or use Activsync to delete them. A good thing to do for programs you want for "every once in a while use" is to leave them uninstalled on the storage card and install when in use and remove from program memory when finished, that way you can have it when you need it and remove it to use the space for other things.

Thanks for the reply. The reason for the post was the majority of my installed programs had simply not registered in the Settings/Remove Programs. Following a major software crash with the phone, having used it for 10 months without any problems, I decided to hard reset and load everything again. Lo and behold all my programs now appear in the Remove Programs menu. Weird :D Now off to my next post about loss of voice tags :D
