Guest robt Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 The only problem is will it work on the 3100? http://cgi.ebay.com/Motorola-Audio-Stereo-...4QQcmdZViewItem eBay: Motorola Audio Stereo Jack mini USB 3.5mm V3 U6 Adapter (item 110025864974 end time Aug-26-06 22:00:00 PDT) Ive bought one of these on the off chance that it would work, and I can tell you it *DOESNT* work The plug fits, but the connections are obviously all wrong. No sound to the phones and doesnt cut off sound from the speaker. If you look at the internals of the plug compared to the supplied headset, its completely different. I am surprised how long its taking for these adaptors to become commercially available for the Tytn range, everyone wants one! Nice try :D
Guest gavingovinden Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 (edited) Now that I think about it an adapter is still no use for example when I want to play music or sat nav through my car speakers and charge the device too as I often did with my M500. What a horrendous design flaw. Someone's basically got to create a Y splitter now to channel both audio and charging. Absolute pants for a phone that is so good overall. Guest robt Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 Agreed. What were they thinking? This can only be a reason why people wont buy their products, not the other way round. And if they were thinking that bluetooth is the alternative, I think their a bit premature on that too. Rob

Just hope the socket aint going to wear out, with all the pluging/unpluging we're going to have to do, for 18 months?
Guest Iggy82 Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Surely there must be a way of charging the unit whilst listening to audio simultaneously with a modified headphone kit? I really want to be able to do this rather than keep swapping around all the time. Does anybody know much about the charger lead itself, are there pins free in the audio headset that aren't in use which could be used for power input to the phone?!
