as a UK user of a qtek 8310 I have the refional set to UK English how ever the long date format does not show day of he week as it does in US English i was wondering if there is a way to add this date format to the Uk regional settings Its a much needed feature for my self as i work nights i often get confused over what the actula day is.

hope you guys can help me on this one please.

As far as I know the formats are help in ROM and can not be altered as such.

Have a read of this bug fix and it may give you some ideas.

not got my phone on me as my phone is with my car at the garage being fitted to a car kit with full audio for sat nav but will check it out thanks for the heads up

It is possible to change the date format in the registry and amazingly I still remember where I saw it. Thanks to gpcarreon who posted some instructions with his animated homescreen HERE :D

Ripple XML use of the 'long-style' date format. By default, the phone's long style date format is: dddd MMMM dd, yyyy corresponding to Friday April 29, 2005.

The problem when using the long style date format without the tweak is that long day and long month names will overlap with the time. Example is Wednesday September 30, 2006.

The format used by this homescreen is ddd, MMM dd, yyyy translating to Thu, Mar 31, 2005. The long style date format registry value is located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides\SLDte.

Restart device for changes to take effect.

If you wish to go back to the default format, just browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides\SLDte and change the Value data to dddd MMMM dd, yyyy

I have now changed my short date to include the day so it now states Tue 05/09/06. This was done by adding ddd to registry value SSDte so it became ddd dd/MM/yy

Remember to restart phone :D

downloaded and will try it at some point but got it how I want it through the registry thanks for all your help i have posted the tips on another forum where peeps wanted the same thing i will link to back here for the download too
