Guest cng Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I was wondering how to set the button to initiate to the one on the headset, if possible. I heard about people doing that with PPC and I expect that to be the same. Currently, the button I'm using is the com manager (press and hold). The reason this is inconvenient is because the beauty of Voice Command and bluetooth headsets is that you dont need to take out the phone. Sure, you can find the button while the phone is in the pocket but what about the bag? Its just so much more convenient to use it without taking the phone out at all.
Guest smeg36 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Microsoft Voice Command doesn't support being used with BT headsets. The only way people are able to make it work is if their device already has an alternate voice dialing software that does support BT headsets. If it does you can do some registry hacking that will allow you to place Voice Command in the place of the current software.
Guest cng Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Sweet! I think I can get another BT dialing program then all I need is someone to teach me the registry.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Just be careful in this thread talking about ill-gotten software.
Guest conan_troutman Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 doesn't windows media 5 aupport BT dialing already all be it with voice tags rather than VR?
Guest smeg36 Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Windows Media 5 is pretty old and outdated. Windows Mobile 5 :D on the other hand really depends on the device you have. Some do, some don't. Even if it does, some people prefer MS Voice Command over the built-in voice dialing software (like me). You don't have to train any names or anything with it. If your phone doesn't already have BT voice dialing software built in (like the Treo 700w), then you won't be able to reg hack Voice Command into working. If it does, like my PPC-6700, then you can. Encece is correct though, Microsoft hasn't released Voice Command for the Smartphone platform yet. We should keep this on the hypothetical, not start discussing any illegal actions of obtaining the software.
Guest conan_troutman Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 no but for those who do want some thing similar which is legal check out fonix voice dial and or mobile speechfrom lab9 both use voice recognition see ppost 3 here > http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=245147 to get links
