Guest Wam7 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I make a lot of use of calling cards; my calls are routed via another network/number i.e call 0800 113 2341 first then after a few seconds the number I want to call is automatically entered. Is this handled easily on the M3100 and is it all automated?

Guest NikLP Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Personally I have absolutely no idea what the hell you're both talking about... I assume this is why you've had no answers to your questions. What the shag is a calling card (apart from the obvious everyday use of the phrase)? Are you possibly referring to vCards?

I think they mean telephone services that allow them to call abroad for cheap. In London we have loads of companies that offer discounted telephone rates to various countries. Usually you have to phone the company's customer number, then enter your account number and pin, then the number you want to be connected to.. I use Alpha telecom myself.

So I either dial simplyfone or yourcall and then it asks for a number. Is there a way to program in the second half of the string so that it automatically dials it. (i.e. on my old phone, i could dial XXXXXXXX ,, 001 yyy yyy yyyy (the comma is a pause). How do i do this on WM?
Guest Wam7 Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 On my P910 it has a calling card menu. You can set up a calling card, with access number and verification number. if you need to. When you want to route your call via this rather than your normal mobile network then it's straight forward to select it via a small icon on the bottom of the screen.
Guest mcwarre Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 On WM the comma trick works (there is anothe symbol which outs in a longer pause but I don't know what it is off the top of my head). Give it a try and let us know how you get on.
Guest aceking Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 (edited) Wam7, I also wanted something like that built into WM5 devices, but I guess the days of using calling cards are slowly disappearing for most people. I liked older Sony Ericsson devices such as the T68 and T610/630 as they had a calling card feature built into the phone. Currently, I use the CCDialer software linked below and it works great on my HTC Tornado (Smartphone), Wizard (PPC Phone) and Hermes (PPC Phone). For those that use the software, please send words of encouragement to the author as he has worked hard to add new features into it. Download Software: http://krishnakumar.com/Main/Extra/CCDiale...CCDialerV20.htm Support Forum: http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/v...b4cb361e2e22bda Enjoy! I hope it's what you were looking for. Edited September 15, 2006 by aceking
Guest Wam7 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 aceking Thanks, that's exactly what I will need and next version will be even better! There is not a day that I don't go without using one of a few calling cards so this will help immensely. The calling card system on the T610 was excellent, even better than on my P910, interesting that it's for runner inspired the author to create this. :D
Guest louisw Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Something wierd is that it only dials a few of the numbers after the pause. Both with ccdialer and using a straight contact. i.e. i have it dial +447744200007pp001abcdefghij but i dont get tones for the full 001abcdefghij

If not I have come across another calling card dialer that is already tied into the phone address book. Can't be arsed to look which one as I can't use it yet as Orange have messed up my line 2 but it you want to try it I will tell you.

I might try a hard reset later to see if I did something that inadvertantly messed up the tones. I have a feeling that the number or two after a pause is skipped... no idea why... but worthless at this point.
Guest simonclark123 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I've used 07744 dialthroughs for international calls on Orange and T-Mobile. The letter p is all that's needed to insert a pause on both my spv m500 and spv m3100. Regards Simon Clark Business Telecoms
Guest louisw Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 I wish that would work for me. I get a pause but some of the additional numbers are then cut off.
Guest rjlawson Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 I couldn't get it working at all - the better half was away in the USA, and I was using SimplyFone. Ended up having to tap her hotel number in manually. p, comma, w & CCDialer didn't do anything - is it something to do with T-Mobile's phone prog?

Guest louisw Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 I can across another program called Long Distance Dialer v1.3 which you might want to try nope..no dice. is anyone using t-mobile able to do this just using the commas?
Guest louisw Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) I found the solution.. (for me at least) Per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...p;postcount=171 Never mind. Worked it out. For anyone with a similar problem, use the registry editor to locate the following key: HKLM,"Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL","EnableDTMFSupport",0x0 0010001,1 Change the value from 1 to a 0 and Bob's yer Uncle (for non-British readers that means everything will be cushty - see Only Fools and Horses for a contextual translation) Did this and I was able to manipulate my voicemail messages as normal. I am on O2UK. Have found no other bugs as yet. Many thanks to all who have put their time and effort into producing and testing this. HKLM = HKEY_lOCAL_MACHINE (under my device).. I can't believe that took me 10 minutes to figure out. Edited November 7, 2006 by louisw
