Eten PDA phones

Hi all

At the moment, all Eten-related matters are pushed away right down in Pocket PC/Pocket PC Device Specific/Other.

Since E-ten seems to be the biggest non-HTC manufacturer of Windows PDA phones, don't you guys think it's about time they had their own device-specific area here at Modaco?

There is a forum at eten-users.net, but Modaco is MASSIVE and attracts far more contributors.

Let us Eten users have more of a voice here and maybe a few of you HTC users will see the light...

Maybe if there were more Eten posts? Look at the traffic in the iPaq / Mitac / Treo / Samsung / Dell sections - it's next to zero.

Maybe get other users to start posting en masse from the other forums and up the traffic for eten / Torq / whatever-else-it's-sold-as devices and ask Paul.

And I think the Palm Treo Windows devices kick Eten's Ass in terms of sales - despite the latest Treos being manufactured by HTC they are not 'HTC devices' as HTC are not the ODM - they are built for PalmOne - regardless of rumours claiming HTC led the design process.

And don't forget Quanta with their HP6828 / XDA Atom, Compal with their Fujitsu Loox GSM PDA's... etc etc....all devices from major household names not made by HTC that no doubt eclipse Eten in terms of sales simply for the fact they have a bigger market prescence, brand recognition and major marketing strategies. Eten is a comparative minnow.

Comparing 1 small OEM brand ( Etens are made by Torq IIRC) to an entire family of device brands from 1 OEM is like trying to compare a BMW to any car from the many brands in the VW group - illogical. To make a statement we may see the light implies the device we have is inferior - making no account for the fact that we could be driving around in a Lamborghini ( SPV m3100 ) while you only have a 1 series BMW ( eten m500 w/ wm2003) - for example... :D

Well, given the number of posts since Sept 06 when I started this thread, I now feel a bit of a prat.

Still, it's nice to have an Eten section here, so thanks Modaco!
