T-Mobile Vario II vs. Orange SPV M3100

Looking at the websites of T-Mobile and Orange:

T-Mobile say the Vario II has a 300Mhz processor and 64MB of RAM.

Orange say the SPV3100 has 128MB RAM, and don't specify the processor speed. I was under the impression it was 400Mhz from what I've read in the past, although I can't be sure.

Are there any other differences? I thought these 2 phones were supposed to be the same HTC Hermes models?

They are indeed the same - the differences are simply cosmetic (buttons) which may result is a different model number. The Vario II is a HERM300 and the M3100 is a HERM100 I think but this doesn't really mean much.

The main difference is that the Vario II doesn't have a hardware Video Calling button on the front.

The 300MHz speed specified on the TMob site is just a typo.

T mobiles rom for the vario2 seems to have far less problems than Os

eg freezing while charging etc.

but that might jusr be me being lucky !

no other differences as far as I can see otherwise

So the RAM that T-Mobile quote (64) and Orange quote (128) - which ones is correct?

And what speed of processor do they both have?

2 sets of info from 2 networks = me confused as to what I am buying!

Yep the specs on the tmobile website are wrong the M3100 and Vario II are exactly the same hardware wise bar the video call button.

Same processor 400mhz samsung and same amount of RAM etc etc

only different ROMs
