Guest DaKow Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 I just upgraded from an older Palm based treo to a 700W. I love it thusfar. I have always liked the Palm form factor and I think WM5.0 is a great OS. But, given what I was used to (Palm + goodlink) I have a few questions about usability, applications, and configurations. I use direct push active sync to synchronize to my office exchange server. This worked seemlessly and seems to have decent direct push offerings. Some questions: 1. I occasionally get 'dialing national broadband access' is there a way to set it to just always stay connected? 2. Is there a way to do a GAL lookup on the device? Does it 'cache' email addresses, so if I use one or manually type on, it will pull it down, or it only does that given email addresses in your address book? 3. Is there a way to add 'public contact lists' (a contact folder in the public directory of exchange.) 4. Is there a way to get notification of email messages delivered to subfolders? 5. Where/how can I set message notifications to vibrate as well as make a sound? Though I do almost all of my synching via activesync to exchange, I have a mac at home, and I'd love to be able to connect to it via bluetooth. By default the Treo does not have any 'services' the mac can use. My questions are: 1. Can I use my mac with bluetooth with this device at all? 2. Can I use the treo for EVDO access on the mac? either via cable or via bluetooth? 3. I know there are features I can use if I have the missing sync, will this allow any of the above? At the office we do have a GoodLink server for our palm devices. How is GL integration on this device? Does it integrate with the Palm/WM5.0 home screen or does it replace it with the GL home screen? Any quirks or usability issues with GL? That is it for now, I am sure more questions will come up over the next few days, but I need to try to power through this to make sure this is what I want versus a 700p. Thanks everyone.
