Vario II paint job?

Hi

I'm tempted to upgrade from the MDA Compact to Vario II but have a concern about the silver paint on the casing.

Is it the same stuff as on the MDA Compact which I found scratched quite easily and required a protective sheath? I reckon the Vario II might be just a bit too thick for my pocket with a rubber cover round it...

Mine goes everywhere with me and I've even dropped it and it's not got a mark on it. Admittedly, it's still early days but the case seems very sturdy.

Sounds promising - I got scratches on my MDA Compact within days of getting it. Thanks for the quick response.
