Guest Pandemonium Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Is there any way of charging a Vario II via a powered USB hub when the computer is switched off? I don't want to have to use the mains charger if I can help it. I thought a powered hub would be all I need, but it seems that an active connection to the computer is required for the hub to supply power to the PDA. I've read about "dumb" USB hubs not being able to do what I want. Is there any way of doing what I want, and what are "smart" USB hubs? I have a Belkin USB hub - the seven port one with two ports on the top.
Guest randomelements Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 As far as I am aware the device needs to have the drivers installed on the PC in order for the connection to supply power so a dumb hub is not going to do the job.
Guest Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Out of interest what is wrong with using the proper charger does exactly the same job?! JEREMY
