Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I've installed it, i'm using it, Bluetooth connection to my Windows Mobile device works a treat, and I love the way the device now behaves like a proper drive (you can right click - view files etc.). One question tho... how the hell do you install applications without ActiveSync?!?! :D P
Guest willieturnip Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 paul, surely you, of all people should know
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I know now... now that WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center) is out  P
Guest Tech Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 should be the same way....?? Just double click on the desktop setup and it should automatically install it, or drag and drop the cab file into the device and run it from there
Guest peekie Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 There is also an icon for active sync in the control panel which does not seem to work if wmp has bonded to the phone , vista seems a nice upgrade but sadly not for most laptops as rc2 shows the direction its going :( , it seems for lappys the home basic ( when its released ) will be the system , which is a poor version as it misses so many good features from the top end version and what you miss it would be better to stay with xp but knowing us modaco guys we will upgrade just for the fresher look
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Vista is a great laptop OS, better than XP in many ways Peekie... so why do you say that? P
Guest mandt Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Hi guys, I installed Vista RC1 yesterday, I cannot figure out how to sync with it. AS is a no-no, and the only options I can find on the new mobile device centre are to sync media and browse files. What about mails, calendar, tasks and contacts!?
Guest travisb Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Another Vista related question. Santa is about to come early and drop a 17" Acer Aspire down my chimmney this week (gently I hope!). Thanks to my MSDN account, I've also got the release version of Vista. Am tempted to upgrade (to Ultimate) before doing much else to the lappy, but was wondering whether anyone has had any problems synching on 2 machines, one with Vista, the other with XP via ActiveSync?
