missing mms account

hi all

just noticed on my xda minis that my mms account has disappeared,i defo had it when i got it but never really used it so forgot about it,went to send a mms and the whole account is gone,cant to create one either...any ideas?

Hello!

MMS is one thing that is lost when you bypass the extended rom (so preventing the device from customising itself). Having said that, I recall hearing that the XDA Pocket PC Phones have a config menu on hard resetting which allows you to choose Corporate in order to avoid O2 Active being installed. If you chose this option it might have done the same thing.

Could u let us know if either of these is the case? If so the easiest course of action will be to hard reset but its also possible you could unhide the extended rom and reinstall which cab sets up the MMS on the XDA Mini S...

yes i did go into corporate mode on the xda as i didnt need the 3rd party software cos on vodafone.didnt realise that it would remove the mms software,anyways going to find this cab file.could i use a cab extractor to get the mms cab out of the rom?

I believe you can unhide the extended rom where the cabs are by using a program called Total Commander. Once you've identified the cab you need just run it there and then on your Mini S.

k,got total commander,found the cab put when i run it says installing for ages nothing happens,followed by a soft reset by moi!tried copying it to the disk but just get an error.maybe i need to unlock the rom?another q,by hard resetting does that void the cid unlock,so i have to unlock it again?could someone attach the mms cab file im looking for,cheers!
