Guest w411y Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 (edited) Most of you may know I'm still in school and what not. My school is closely linked to a charity known as the Joshua Foundation which provides familes who have a child with a terminal illness the chance to enjoy whats left of their life. Basically, if I can raise Edited September 9, 2006 by w411y
Guest Jamma14 Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 Sponsored bike ride: Land's End --> John O'Groats ??? or if you feel you aren't up to the challenge... :D You can often get grants from the government or local businesses and other charities if you write them nice letters explaining your plans...do some research and send out lots of letters! :D Although you'll need to agree on what proportion of money will go on what with donaters of large amounts, maybe keep receipts and things...and make sure you only use as much as you need and fairly return any excess in donations after the trip... I don't know if you're planning a gap year anywhere but this'll be good practice! James
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 This came up in the office today. You'll need to repeat this to get the sums you need but it doesn't involve you throwing yourself off a cliff. Buy wholesale, sell retail. 1. When I was at primary school I (my parents) bought a big bag of sweets and I sold them for a penny each at school. Bag cost (ooh) 50p but collected (say)
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 -I've also thought about selling homescreens however I'm unsure how I'll pull that off just yet You know that most of us never get round to learning xml editing. I love Juni's Organiser skin for the functions but would pay you to convert it to a Leeds United theme. I just don't have the time to sit down and work it out. Something I imagine you could knock out in 5 minutes (?) If it's for a good cause I'm happy to pay. PM me with a price or set out a price list ?
Guest Laser_iCE Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 You could do something like buying things in bulk and reselling them, for instance, buying lots of cans of soda/soft drink and then going to the markets and selling them from an esky :D Obviously you need to take in consideration petrol and bags of ice, but still, you can come out on top :D Another thing is going to the local shopping centre/mall and sitting down with a can, some booklets about terminally ill children, and just waiting for donations :D Let me know where in Australia you're going and we can have a few beers :D
