Guest Dakers Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I've tried searching for it, but can't find anything yet that's close to what I'm after. I was wondering if anyone's produced a Newbie FAQ for PPC/WM5 devices. I'm looking at getting one in the very near future, but would love a leg-up in terms of getting to know the device quickly. Are there simple shortcuts that I should know about? Do's/Don'ts when starting off using the device? Errors/Problems that simpletons make first time round that could be avoided with some prior knowledge? Are there ways to set all the buttons up rather than navigating 15 layers of menus? I want to jump in and start using the device, but without feeling like I'm having to learn a new OS from the ground up, does that make sense? Any suggestions gratefully received!
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I don't wish to sound facetious, but if you have a phone and a Windows PC you can't go far wrong. Have a poke around in the PPC sections here. I haven't seen an online guide but you will get a decent enough manual with the device and Amazon (etc) sell pretty good 'All You Ever Wanted To Know' books. :D
Guest Dakers Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Not at Stu! Thanks for your response. I'll peruse your link about the first 48 hours shortly. It looks quite interesting and the kind of thing I was after. It was more along the lines of recommendations on assigning buttons to tasks and things like that. Like I say, I haven't even got the device yet, so I've no idea about soft buttons or whatever. I just wanted to be able to dive straight in without that whole feeling of re-inventing the wheel. Cheers, Paul
