SPVM3100 and tomtom issues

okay so i waited an age for this phone to come out on orange, had issues with my M5000 and tomtom so retained use of an old M2000 for nav5 use. new phone arrives and think to myself, lets give it a go, should work but ..........no ! can anyone help me out and advise on how i can get the dam thing to work,
