Guest Laser_iCE Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 In a move that may allow Nintendo of Japan to take advantage of stumbles by its main rival, the company plans to announce today that it will release its new Wii video-game console in North and South America on Nov. 19, just as the holiday shopping season begins, and that the machine will cost $250 in the United States. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/business/285...nintendo14.html HOLY CRAP I'M SO FREAKIN EXCITED

Guest fraser Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 2006 will be a great year for Nintendo. I've always been a little critical of them, never been a fan of the child-like graphics and games. But both the wii and the DS have it right; they have lots of other interesting titles. They seem to be shying away from the old Nintendo. Sure, there will always be platformers to keep the hard-core fans happy, but it's the new wii controler and the interesting things they are doing on the DS that ought to make them huge sellers. It's the next step in the industry IMHO; Sony led the way by targetting an older market with the PSX and Nintendo now have their sights set on getting whole families playing together.
