I can only get a low signal when im at home, is there a signal booster i can get for my vario 2.

Can i utilise the car antenna socket maybe?

I'm having a look into this.

What seems to be needed is the actual antenna then a device specific cable. i.e. the window antenna here:

obviously with a different adaptor. Or a bigger external solution such as:

Beware! You need to either get an aerial for the correct band, or one that proclaims itself as universal/multi - just make sure it covers your band.

If you have a lot of money to spend, or you are that far away from a transmitter, there seems to be available a sort-of retransmitter device, though I didn't bookmark where I saw it.

Sites in the 'States are best for seeing what's possible as you search for the words cellular and antenna - the word cellular being a lot more specific than our "mobile".

The good news seems to be the reception on the Hermes (well, my Vario II at least) is excellent. I can actually get 1 bar without having to stand on the toilet in my bathroom.

Hope this helps - and anyone else who may come through the forum in the future. I'll try and remember to post back as-and-when I get myself sorted, but there's plenty of options out there.

thanks, will look into it when I get more time. I spotted the widow one, for a car or home use just doesn't mention vario 2 compatability so I email somone (cant remember which site)

I too have probs with signal in my house, if I go to the front of the house I get 3g intermittently if I sit on couch about 12ft away from window I get nowt...

Expansys now have the cable to connect to an external attenna.

OUt of interest has anyone actually tried the cheap 'signal boost' stickers you see sold? Do they have any effect?
