Need advice from sprite backup , SDA, and WM5 users

I have had alot of trouble with the new 2.6.33 ROMs on my SDA, but I'm still trying to get one to work, as they're so much nicer than the stock t-mobile ROM.

So, my question is multi-part -

1) will sprite COMPLETELY backup my WM5 device? I see conflicting reports on WM5 compatability. Has anybody with an SDA ever done this?

2) after a restore, will my registered programs still be registered, or will I have to re-enter serials, etc?

3) will sprite backup/restore all my registry settings? I can see this being a problem if I'm going from one firmware to a newer one.

***4) Assuming the above are answered as I hope, can I backup my phone now, while running the t-mo ROM, and then flash to the new imate ROM and then restore my phone with the previously made backup?

Grealy appreciate any advice, considerations, warnings, etc.

You can back up to a newly installed ROM just make sure you read up on the instructions first.

Well, I sucked it up and reinstalled the imate ROM. Then, I made sure to install every program that starts automatically (facade, papyrus, autokeylock, power control +OMAP, fizz weather, and smartmonitor) to the DEVICE, not the storage card. My main storage is down to 3.9M now, so I'm hoping I won't run into any problems from that.

I didn't have enough room to install sprite there, so to the storage card it went...

Anyways, made a backup (holding my breath the whole time), that went perfectly. The resulting file is roughly 9M. Havne't tried restoring from it yet, hope to not have to... :D

SO far so good though. No problems booting, had a couple of the typical freezes trying to do to much, etc. Booted up fine after though.

So, if I don't run into the boot freeze again, I'll assume it was having one of the above programs installed on teh storage card.

Of course, if I do, I'll post back here just to update.
