Guest linku Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Hello :D , i was wondering if any speed hacks for emulators like PocketGBA exist especially for Smartphones/Pocket PCs with OMAP CPUs ? I almost gave up on emulation before i tried masteralls modified PocketSNES, where i can run most games at 100% speed now :D . Unfortunately GBA roms run much slower (OMAP@260).. Actually hacks which would downsize the resolution would help already..

Actually hacks which would downsize the resolution would help already.. I need a Dell Aximx51v overclocked to 702 mhz and with 3D-GFX-Card support activated to get GBA running at nearly real speed with Sounds. I tried it on a Yakumo with 400 Mhz and it was a PITA to play on most games, even without sound. Even if you scale down the resolution it would remain unplayable on slower devices because PocketGBA needs ALOT of resources to run halfway decent...
Guest Symbionik Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 man , if a Dell Axim51v can't handle it....i mean that ppc suports tony hawk 2 :(.....MAN..!! well if the emu had dynarec *google it* it wold probably go faster...i mean i have a friend that was running gba games at full speed on a 500MHZ computer )

Guest Symbionik Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 a fps skip might improve the speed i bealive....
Guest Zeiram Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 a fps skip might improve the speed i bealive.... Of course it would, but it makes the game choppy and unplayable if the Frameskip is too high... On my Yakumo with 400 Mhz and without 3D-Chip i have to play without Sound and with a Frameskip of 4 to get a decent speed to call it playable, its far from running full speed then still...
