Guest dronkula Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Anyone know which Smartphones are now available as pay and you go phones? Orange don't seem to offer any SPV's anymore. I'd like to stay with Orange cos the network round here with them is pretty good and i can't be faffed messing around porting numbers etc. At the moment I've got the SPV E200. But it's no longer a happy phone - had it for a couple of years and it's finally started having a few problems. Like answering calls (press 'answer' it does nothing for a few seconds and then says 'unable to answer call') and the joystick has now stopped going downwards so I think I need to start thinking about moving on and letting that one retire in peace. So, what can I get now? Or do I have to just resort to getting something second hand on ebay?
Guest spacerace Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 How odd, you're right, Orange no longer show ANY "Orange" phones under PAYG... They were definitely there a while ago, maybe it's a temporary stock thing. You could always see what PAYG options there are in your nearest Orange store. T-Mobile don't have any PAYG smartphones either. Other options are to get one secondhand (sometimes un-opened) from ebay and get a PAYG SIM. THis gives you the option of going for the newer C600 if you want.
Guest conan_troutman Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 I always buy sim free that way I can where I want with who I want

Yeah - I've checked my Local Orange shop and they don't have any SPV's on PAYG and I've got the latest (Sept 06) brochure and there's none listed in there either. Looks like it's going to have to be Ebay then.
Guest spacerace Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 don't forget to check the For Sale forum on here: http://www.modaco.com/For-Sale-eBay-Auctions-f168.html had a quick look and there are a few up now.
Guest Chaos Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 I bought my v1240 as new on eBay (as well as my past 2 phones). It came fully unlocked too . You can get some very good deals on there if you don't want a contract.
Guest spacerace Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 The V1240 doesn't come locked
