3125 syncs, but nothing shows up

My friend got a 3125 and couldn't get it to sync right so I went to look at it. ActiveSync 4.2 recognizes the phone and says it's syncing, but nothing is transfered except when I make a task on the phone, it gets synced as a blank task in Outlook "-". Otherwise nothing goes even though ActiveSync shows the number of items it is syncing. I tried deleting the relationship, but that didn't help. Anyone know what might be causing this?
