Guest AndrewH13 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Tried to access a video on www.youtube.com and get error message 'you either have javascript turned off or an old version of Macromedias Flash Player'. 'Click here to get latest Flash player' results in an Adobe page 'Not Found'. Is it like the PC where Java Virtual Machine had to be installed to view pages containing Java applets (when Windows versions pulled the Plug?) What programs are needed for the Vario II to access Java-enabled webpages or those requiring Shock, or is it not a good idea on PocketPC?

Guest AndrewH13 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 adobe only do flash 7 for wm5 at the moment ... "Developers can download the free Flash Player 7 for Pocket PC today to start developing and experiencing rich Flash content, enterprise applications and mobile services right from your Pocket PC." from Adobe site. I'm not interested in Developing just viewing pages. So are users not bothering to download anything to access Java or Flash pages on the Vario II, or is it not easily done or not worth it on the small screen?

Richard Works as is for most stuff - but I thought YouTube needed Flash 8, which is where the mobile users fall flat on their face until Adobe get their finger out??? The whole of the ex-Macromedia product line seems to have gone a bit quiet since they were swallowed up by the behemoth that is Adobe...... won't be the last time....... Mark.
