Guest AaronW Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Are they the same? If not, what is missing?
Guest gavingovinden Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 There's no "phonepad" on the 3100.
Guest AaronW Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 So what exactly is Phonepad? How does it differ from the 0 - 9 phonepad on the M3100 when you press the green button.
Guest FragMeister Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I think that there is some confusion here between phone dialler software for dialling numbers by number/contact name, and the phonepad/intellipad text entry method that comes with other earlier HTC devices (eg to type text messages by T9 or ABC entry). You can still dial numbers but you don't have the intellipad text entry (although this is available if you seek hard enough (although for obvious reasons we dont want poor Paul to get into trouble, so no direct links to it). If you go back through the hermes forum, this was discussed at some length a few weeks back, so take a look though the past few pages, or even perform a search and you should find these topics
Guest Kallisti Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I just don't get this.... The dialler that comes with my Vario allows me to type in a name via a T9 like interface and it'll find it in my contacts.. I've never used phonepad as this is my first pocketPC phone, but I can't see what else it's going to do? So for example, if I want to call John Smith on 0700111222, I either type in 76484 (smith) or 0700111... and select from the list or hit green if it's already figured it out.. This is with a default install of the Vario II software..
