Is there an app that does "alpha" hot/smart keys?

Hello, I am new to smartphones and coming from a treo 650. Is there an app (for Motorola Q) that will quickly launch a app/url/speed dial buy using the key. For example, activate hot key then press "H" to dial home. Or press, "W" to go to a favorite weather web site? In Palm OS, programs like Butler and Hilauncher can do this?
