Guest WILBUR Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 On the BBC this morning they announced a BBC breakfast podcast, available on http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/breakfast/5331464.stm I thought given my HSDPA and WnW Pro I'd download it on my mobile, but when I clicked the link it appears to try to open the file in Internet Explorer (pages of symbols appear) rather that starting a file download. Anyone advise how I can force a download?
Guest nforsans Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 The web page mentioned gives details of the Breakfast podcast initiative. The feed url is http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/rmhttp/download...podcast/rss.xml If you use a RSS reader on your podcast PC, create a new channel for the above web address, make sure you ask your rss reader to download associated enclosures/podcasts, and next time it will download. hope it helps

Guest nforsans Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Yes you can. Haqving checked the BBC Breakfast/podcast website, the url for this particular podcast seems to be this: http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/rmhttp/download...-0600_40_st.mp4 If you want daily/weekly automatic download of the relevant podcast, then a rss reader is needed. I got the above url by visiting this BBC Breakfast page: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/breakfast/5331464.stm then clicking on the "download this" on the right hand side of the page. The podcast address (for automatic download) is located behind the "podcast" link just below the "download" link, and is a s mentioned in my earlier post. You should get sorted.
Guest WILBUR Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Okay - so it appears that this works fine using Opera browser but not using Pocket Internet Explorer Still don't know why not...
