Guest rossjamesparker Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Has anyone used the OMIZ Stereo Bluetooth MP3 Headset with the Tornado over A2DP. They appeal to me because they have a built in FM radio. I haven't seen any other A2DP headsets that offer this. However, I'm not entirely sure that they're compatible... or that the brand is very reputable. Any advice (short of 'buy them yourself and test them' which isn't so helpful)?

Well, I bough t a pair of Omiz headphones about a year ago (also because they boasted the FM feature) and I have to say I was really disappointed. the FM reception was just hopeless on my pair plus they don't seem to have A2DP - which means they don't work with my lovely new M3100. Hi Ho...

Hi Ho... Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, it came a little late. I bought some of these headphone last week. They're terrible. The FM reception doesn't work. The A2DP is non-standard and only works with some selected phones. The battery lasts about ten minutes and the whole headset is, frankly, shoddy beyond belief. I would not recommend this junk to anyone. I am considering flogging them (as new) on eBay, but am not sure if I can morally land these pieces of junk on anyone else. Maybe I'll donate them to a tramp, who can listen to the static that passes for FM reception for the ten minutes the battery will last. This experience has seriously put me off buying another pair of A2DP headphones for my SP5m. Does anyone have headphones that they have had total success with? The Motorola's perhaps? Are any stable enough to sit on my head while I am running? Or should I just go out and buy a replacement wired headset (I lost my first headset). Oh... and... in case I do go for the wired option: which stereo headsets work with the SP5m? There is a model-specific hands-free on Expansys, but it's expensive. Do xda/xda2/spv ones fit? Thanks.
Guest mini_man Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Im using the Anycoms. They work brilliantly! The AVCRP also half works which is a kind of bonus allowing me to pause, skip track forward and back. The anycoms are identical to the sonorix ones but cheaper. http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=119598 There nice folding and look like headphones and not buckets stuck to your head. Sam

Guest The Doctor Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 The anycoms are identical to the sonorix ones but cheaper. The sonorix ones however include a bluetooth audio gateway allowing you to stream audio from any device to your headset via bluetooth. Phil
