Guest nato Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Does anyone else have the following problem... I have various MPEGS,MP3's and ringtones of all sorts of file types. Trouble is when viewing the contents of my storage card using the built in file explorer, the file association is missing. With other devices I have had, I can launch an mpeg or MP3 (WM player) from File explorer. Now I get message saying ' File xxx cannot be opened.Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file.' I have a 2Gb Micro SD card (SANDISK) But didnt format it. The OS recognised it straight away. Would re-formatting help? Bit reluctant as there are over 1Gb of MP3's which took ages to transfer!! Launching the files from the application works ok by the way. Cheers
Guest swampcat Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 It sounds like you installed a media player app, make it the default player then uninstalled. You can manually associate your files types again. Ways: 1. Manually edit registry with registry editor by finding ".mp3" for example or 2. Sktools > File Types. You can change your file associations with ease. (*Sktools is shareware)
