Guest richard_d Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Any idea whether there's any UK tide time software available for WM5? Either a today screen plug in or stand alone application would do - paid or freeware. Thanks Richard
Guest Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Yep I want this too. although I'm a cheapskate so preferably freeware. thanks Jeremy
Guest richard_d Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Yep I want this too. although I'm a cheapskate so preferably freeware. thanks Jeremy I've had a good browse but can't find anything suitable. The data is on the BBC Weather web site and other sites, so I've contacted SPB to see whether they've got plans to produce something similar to SPB Weather - having played with the BBC weather template to get wind direction working, I think something could be produced in a similar fashion. I'd happily pay
Guest travisb Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Have you 2 checked out this www.belfieldsoftware.co.uk/ It's a tide plotter that will work on Windows Mobile devices as well as pc. The web site seems a bit out of date though.
Guest Nyami Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 I have used this on the SPV M2000 and it worked well. http://airtaxi.net/ctide/ It does predict the tides so it may not be acurate, and I'm not sure if it will work with WM5, but maybe worth a try. Cheers Nyami
Guest Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Ooo that looks okay thanks I think though people are really missing what i want the software for. basically ive got weather software (Weather watcher mobile) singerscreations.com for my weather needs (currently in beta but im one of the beta testers and the latest beta works perfectly soon to be released as version 1) its a standalone app that downloads the weather feeds from xxx and displays it. (free compared to spb weather ) does pretty much the same thing. This tells me the weather for xxx city(s) for the next 7 days etc etc. what i want is basically what the bbc website says ie a program that just lists what the high tide and low tide times are for city xxx so i dont have to go look up the website before i go to the beach etc. it must be easy to do as the bbc have a similiar template. anyway will give that one a shout but im wary of predictive algorithm programs when the bbc clearly have the prediction down pat!! JEREMY

JEREMY Yes that's pretty much what I was after - I contacted Spb to see if they had any plans to bring out such a product and they got back to me very quickly, saying no but would add it to the development request list for Spb Weather 2.
