Guest Meatball1989 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Hi Modaco forum users :( I've been a long term looker on these forums and I've finally decided to register. I need some advice from you all. I've just got my first job so I'm earning enough so I can save up for a top-sec smartphone. I've put my specs etc in lists so it's easier (hopefully) Thanks for ANY help, I never knew it would be so hard to choose a smartphone  The phone will be used for: 1) Web browsing (MAJOR) 2) IM, EMail, SMS, Calls 3) Taking pictures/videos 4) TV (If you find a phone that has it) Specs (I would like): 1) QVGA Screen (I would like it to be a good size) 2) Wifi (MUST, Don't mind if it's just ;) 3) 3G(3.5g would be a bonus) 4) TV (I would LOVE to have tv on the phone, ideally not analogue due to the switch off) 5) WM5 or the latest symbian. I would prefer WM5 but I wouldn't mind a good symbian 6) A decent camera/video (I can sacrafice on quality) 7) I don't mind size/looks as long as it's not stupidly large/ugly I've been looking at: 1) Nokia N92 2) Gigabyte G-Smart (I love the whole package accept it's analoge tv which is apparently poor) 3) Sony Ericsson P990i (I will not be buying it for a couple of months, so if a phone is due out please post as well) Now the only problem is I don't wont a contract phone, I'm to young! I MUST be able to buy it sim-free or via Pay&Go :-) My budget would be anything up to

Guest Meatball1989 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 first off where do u live. lol. cuz in the US theres no TV smartphones, basicly the only phones are the t-mobile sda, the STRTrK now known as the Cingular 3125, and the Cingular 2125. in the UK theres a much bigger selection. the phones iv seen that are just like those features u want are all the phones that Paul always posts on the news page. i would love to have one of those smartphones but their not out yet, adn if they were it probably wouldnt be in US yet. rite now i think the t-mobile sda is the best cuz thats all there really is rite now. i always like to think, what will smartphones be like a year from now? or 2 or 3 years from now? probably running on WIN32 u think? Hi I'm in the UK. I'll have a look at Paul's posts cheers
Guest looeee Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 for a wm5 wifi smartphone, you only have the choice of a qtek8310 or imateSP5 (same phone). Both are really easy to aquire in the UK, sim-free, and tick all your other boxes
