Help: trying to change handset language from Japanese to English

I have just got my hands on slick new HTC device (TyTN) from NTT DoCoMo in Japan. These are some of the very early Windows Mobile devices in Japan, and they look great.

I'm English speaker though, and would love to get all the menus and so forth in English. I think the device is on AKU 2.x, not the 3.0.

Any ideas on things I could to do get this thing speaking 100% English?

Thanks.

Welcome to teh site

Unless you have the options in the Settings/Regional Setting menu to make it display English then you would need to flash the device with another ROM.

To do this you may also need to CID unlock the device as it may have a network SIM and device lock which would prevent you from reflashing.

One word of warning though, using unauthorized ROMs will invalidate your warranty.

Thanks so much!

I don't have the ability to make it display English. I am happy to flash the device with another ROM. How would I go about doing that?

Any advice woudl be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Jay
