Guest goochy1 Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Hiya Guys, I used to use the Default Windows media player but then my friend told me that realplayer was better but now i've decided otherways. I can't change Media Player back to being my default player. Anyone Know??? cheers goochy1
Guest Driekus Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 (edited) Strangest thing. I thought it must be under tools\options, but I couldn't find it, so I went to this microsoft support page: How to Make Windows Media Player Your Default Player. There it says indeed go to tools\options, but then select the format-tab... but there is none! (WMP10) Am I missing something here? Edit: Even the embedded help-function seems lost: it points to tools\options and then select the "file type"-tab. Again, there's no such tab... Hmmm Goochy, we might be on to something... something BIG! Edited September 26, 2006 by Driekus
Guest genaldar Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Options, file types then just check any formats you want wmp (10) to play by default.
Guest Driekus Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Hmmm, that's what I said, but it didn't work in my case. But I checked this with the WMP on my school, so maybe it's because I don't have administrator rights on the pc? I'll check it at home tonight.
Guest genaldar Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I believe you do need administrator priveleges (sp?, sorry I just got home from work and I'm beat).
Guest goochy1 Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I believe you do need administrator priveleges I am administrator but still doesn't work, I think the only way around it is to completely uninstall realplayer and just hope for the best. Thankyou for your help and comments though.
