Guest J273 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 ....What do you think? Thinking of getting one of these look pretty nice.........does it have a vga style screen? Thanks
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 No Smartphone at the moment has a VGA screen the standard at the moment is QVGA. Only a very few PocketPc devices have VGA screens. The 1320 has the same lanscape QVGA screen as the Motorola Q
Guest J273 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Ahh ok ....I mean a screen like the sp5....is it sort of the same?
Guest fluffcat1 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 The 1320 has the same lanscape QVGA screen as the Motorola Q Same spec screen or same screen? Same screen would be useful... i320 specs here: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=130798 Richard

Guest xizor Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Mine is comming tomorrow (hopefully). Fell free to post questions and I'll try to answer them after I get it. Rich Please let me know your thoughts. I was thinking of picking one up. I have the HTC Prophet / iMate Jamin right now, but would like to try the i320 out. I've never used a qwerty keyboard as my only means of data entry... Tim
Guest cclboss Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Been using one for couple weeks. The phone is very thin but scratches easily when left in the pocket. The keyboard, while usable, is a little on the small side. The battery life is very poor, especially if you have Push email on. Somehow, GPRS and constantly getting email takes a toll on the battery. The screen is beautiful and the device is very usable at night (well lit keyboard). If you take it to the US, then the problem with be lack of 850Mhz so coverage is not as good (especially on Cingular).
Guest xizor Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Is there anyone that would be able to compare the HTC Prophet and the Samsung i320?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 I can when I get home on Saturday... just got a i320  P
Guest J273 Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Isnt the i320 smartphone platform.....whilst the prophets ppc platform
Guest rklosinski Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 (edited) I have had mine for 18 hours. The biggest item that annoys me is the sync cable comming from the side. Its not easy to use when its connected. The keypad, although small, is totally usable, unless you plan to type in the bible. After all, this is what makes this phone so cool. I have loaded Mapololis, Smart Solitaire, eWallet, TCPMP, and they all work fine in landscape mode. BTW, my battery seems to be holding out very well. Its been 8 hours, and it still has 2 bars. I have push email, bluetooth, and gprs enabled. Rich Edited September 28, 2006 by rklosinski
Guest J273 Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Hmmm might haveto get 1 of these
Guest rklosinski Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Just got back from work, and no bars on the battery. BUT, the PowerMangement tool states that I have 26% left. I talked on the phone for 60 minutes, and answered 30+ emails on a pop3 and exchange account. I was kinda worries when the bars went away, but its still ticking.
Guest bigmak Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 The last bar should vanish when there are 20% of power left. What happens then is this: The screen becomes darker which saves the battery. Should give you a couple of hours more. I'm using my i320 for a about two months (yes, this time when it comes to smartphones it was good to be swiss) and I really like it. The only things I don't like that much is the lack of innovative homescreens, but now that its spreading tis might change. The other thing is that our special letters in german
Guest rklosinski Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Im using facade to generate my home screen. I also uses right-button plus to add functionality to the right softkey (contacts, todo, call history, etc). So far (on day two), I took it off the charger at 7:30am, and its not 2:20pm with 45% charge left.
