Guest cdelacha Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Hi, I have a 32 mb ScanDisk SD unlock. I want to do a all backup of my SPV. I've a message during the operation : Saving Bootloader!! Saving WINCE!! Saving GSM!! Saving IPSM Back IPSM failed!! ;) Any idea?
Guest Rob.P Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 From what I have read in other posts, I don't think you have enough memory on the card. I think a full backup like that takes on or around 60odd megs.
Guest HelloDave Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I think it depends what you've got on the phone - I managed a full backup on a 32Mb MMC no problem.
Guest cdelacha Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 It's just after a hard reset so I got nearly nothing.
Guest cdelacha Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 That's OK. I've made another hard reset and "save all". The difference is that I didn't boot my SPV betwenn the reset and the save menu.
Guest DJHope Posted January 25, 2003 Report Posted January 25, 2003 Has anyone restored a backup yet? Did it restore everything back to how it was when you made the backup, including no cert? DJ Hope
Guest xanadu Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 When I do an All Backup it says passed, but I can't read the SD Card. I get messages saying card is not formatted. When I first do the All bacup it says:- Not a valid disk !! Now format disk!! Saving Bootloader!! Saving WINCE!! Saving GSM!! Saving IPSM!! PASSED I am using dane Elec 128MB SD card. Anyone know what is wrong ?

Guest DJHope Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 The format used to write an all backup to the mmc card CAN ONLY BE READ BY THE BOOTLOADER, so WINDOWS CANNOT READ THE BACKUP. Sorry for caps, just wanna make sure thats clear  Take it easy! 8) DJ Hope

DJ Hope OK But, I thought I read on here somewhere that you can read the backed up ROM and save it using Hex workshop ?
Guest DJHope Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 You can, but only in HEX which dosnt help much unless your up for hacking the rom/backing up to a file? If you do want to read it in hex workshop you must have an MMC card reader, your phone wont help! If you have an mmc card reader dont touch the drive in windows just go into hex workshop and use the "disk->open drive" menu. Sorted ;) DJ Hope
