Q:What are the memory stick sizes?

A: They come in 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, 1GB, 2GB. 32 comes with a value pack that the PSP came in.

Q:What size should I get?

A: If you want songs, you should get a 256 MB. They can hold about 50-70 songs. If you want 1 or 2 low quality movies you need a 512 MB, but I recommend a 1GB stick. A 2GB stick is just too expensive right now (although they are coming down in price).

Q:What type of memory stick is this?

A: They are called "MEMORY STICK DUO" Not a "MEMORY STICK PRO" Those are physically different sizes and a MEMORY STICK PRO will NOT work in a PSP. A "MEMORY STICK DUO" that is bigger or equal to 512 MB is called a "MEMORY STICK PRO DUO".

Q:What are the prices of each memory stick?

A: 32 MB comes with the PSP, but they are about $30 and so are the 64MB ones. The 128 MB ones are about $40 and the 256 ones are also $40. 512 MB are around 70 dollars and 1Gb can be from $90 dollars to $200. 2GB ones come cheapest at $350.

*NOTE* 2GB can now be found on ebay for around $140* (12/4/05)

Q:Can I use an IPOD or Portable Media center to store movies for my PSP?

A: No, but there are some that can do that. Search some links on google to find them. They basically need to be a USB host or said to be compatable to the PSP.

Q:Which memory stick brands work with PSP?

A: They can all work. They just need to be MEMORY STICK DUO or MEMORY STICK PRO DUO and need to have "Magic gate" technology. That's the m with 3 lines under it. High speed doesn't matter and you don't need it. There isn't much difference besides price. Sandisks usually are cheaper and a little faster in writing and reading speeds that Sony.

Q:My memory stick is acting weird. Whats wrong?

A: If you memory stick won't format, try taking all the files to the computer and formatting it (with the PSP) when it's empty. If after a few tries, it doesn't work then your memory stick is defective. Get a new one. if the memory stick erases everything after you use it, then it is defective.

*Note: Do NOT format your memory stick with the computer. If you do that, you can't use it on the PSP...*
