Guest notaliberal Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 (edited) Are you on a T-Mobile USA plan? Are you using cell broadcasts, either on your homescreen or in a screensaver, and you're able to actually see some information? If so, PLEASE tell me what channel you're using! I've googled and googled, and all I see is mentions of channel 50, 100, and 200, but none of these show me any info when I add them. Perhaps T-mobile isn't even broadcasting, but if they're not is it possible to watch a channel from another service provider? Pretty new to this, any advice/info/help appreciated. Thanks, Jeff Edited September 26, 2006 by notaliberal

Hi I'm not on T-mo, so I can't help you on specific t-mo cell broadcast channels, but on a general way: you can not retrieve cell broadcasts of other service providers, because you would need to be connected to the provider service  The cell broadcast informations are part of the informations exchanged between the mobile and the base station (the operator antenna) like : - set mobile radio power (up to 2watts), - report imei/ismi to the Home Local Register (central DB containing informations about subscriber localisation and other technical datas), - inform mobile about frequencies of other base stations in the neighboorhood. - etc....
