8125 boot failure

My 8125 decided to shut down by itself (windows - figures), and when i went to restart, it hung up at the cingular screen for an hour or so (left it on desk to do work). It happened again today, except 3 hours later it hasnt booted. I have tried soft reset, but to no avail. I want to leave hard reset for a last resort. Do u have any ideas? Thank you

Could the battery be flat? Have you tried it on mains to see if it boots then?
