Guest nuttyphilt Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Just thought I'd remap my Calendar and Contacts keys on my M3100 but the Soft Keys option isn't there.... I've only got the 'Buttons' options but this doesn't control the Left and Right hardware keys. Any ideas how to get this option back? Cheers.

Don't know how to get the shortcut back (other than a hard reset - if it was ever there in the first place) but there should be a file in the Windows directory called SoftKeyApplet - try running that.
Guest nuttyphilt Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Doesn't seem to be there. I found a registry tweak on XDA Developers that does the trick nicely. Seems strange that this option isn't there on the M3100 though.

Guest M@rkC Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Anyone else on a M3100 missing this? Are Orange ripping it out? Definitely missing on my M3100 - another useful tool that Orange deemed unworthy of being part of their ROM  Hey, @nuttyphil, wanna post a link to the registry hack so the rest of us can get tweaking :( Cheers, Mark.
Guest wills Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 (edited) you can change the softkeys by editing the following keys: Left softkey: HKCU/software/microsoft/Today/Keys/112 Right softkey: HKCU/software/microsoft/Today/Keys/113 Under the above two keys there are the following value to edit: Default = name that will appear on the softkey Open = path to exe You could of course buy Vito Button mapper or join Modaco Plus where you get if for free to edit these values. There is other software out there that allows changing these values such as sbsh iLauncher 3 to. Edited September 28, 2006 by wills
