Guest nsm Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Basically, I am looking for something that would allow the following: During my working day I do not need to have the vario2 picking up my email - hence I do not need the 3g active and picking up mail every so often. Though come 6pm when its time to go home - I want my email to start picking up and connect every so often and download mail - until the next morning (9am) where it can stop again. Otherwise it is a manual process of each morning going into messaging - unticking the box that says 'connect and pick up email every 10 minutes' Then at 6pm going back into messaging and ticking the box. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? You could try using Paul's utilty - HERE - to turn off GPRS/3G (i.e. your Internet connection). It's still a manual task, but you could configure one of the hardware buttons to do it? Just a thought, hope it helps  Mark.
Guest wills Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 (edited) Check out pocketmax phonealarm 1.55 beta 6 here: http://www.pocketmax.net/smf/index.php?board=30.0 which allows you to create automatic time based switching profiles - and in the profiles it enables you to configure it to turn on or off push email. You need to download the full installer and the software costs ~$25 if you want to buy after the trial. hope this helps cheers Edited September 28, 2006 by wills

Guest Mr.Clark Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Can you not set it to pick up email once an hour at peak times and not at all at off peak times, then set peak times to be 6pm - 9am?
