Hello Experts/Friends/Users

I have Motorola MPX220 with Windows Mobile 2003. So far I never had any problem with this phone and the windows in it. But, 2 days ago I had this weird problem which I never thought of. I went to sleep and putted my phone on charge (which I usually always do), next day I went to work and at work I checked my phone. The weird problem which came to be is this, everything, all features works except Contacts, Calendar and Task. Whenever I hit on Contacts, Calendar or Task in my phone nothing comes up and because of that I cannot see any of my contacts. If I try to save any new number it dont let me. It doesnt even detect who is calling, just shows the numbers, even doesnt show the name of the person those who are in my contact list.

I tried the trick mentioned in one of the post at this website but that doesnt work. I tried changing everything what the post says but nothing works.

I tried going into \Windows\Contacts.exe and clicked on that but it still dont run the Contacts.

I tried clicking on \Windows\Appman.exe but that also doesnt work. Even I tried Calendar @ \Windows\Calendar.exe which also doesnt work.

Everything works except three features - Contacts, Calendar and Tasks.

Is there any program or utility I can get by which I can export my phone contacts to computer ? and I will do the hard reset after that. Will that work in order to get back the contacts to work ? I know it will delete all the contacts everything but I will export the contact before that.

Your help is greatly appreciated

URGENT NEED [ASAP]

THANKS

You should be able to just use Activesync and Outlook for copying your contacts and calender over to the PC.

Both applications came on the cd that you should have had with the phone.

Once you have copied the contacts over then hard reset and re-sync the pc with the phone.

Ok I tried this. Here is another thing, I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003 and Active Syn 4.2 latest. Soon I click on Sync button in Micirosoft Outlook 2003 it opens the Motorola Phone Tools which I have installed it as well and the phone is detected. I tried exporting the contacts from that to my pc. The file created in Excel Format but its 0 Bytes. I opened the file and nothing in it.

Any help on that ? I have attached the screenshots for the process I was doing in case you may want to check.

Also, How to do Hard Reset and Soft Reset. Which Reset WILL NOT delete my Contacts if I perform Reset?

Get rid of the Motorola phone tools as you do nto need it.

You only need Activesync and Outlook for backing up and syncing your contacts etc.

A hard reset will wipe all information on the device so you need to sync your device properly first.

Thanks for the help but I think that didnt help me. I removed the Motorola Phone Tools as you said. I have Outlook and ActiveSync installed. I am running ActiveSyn to sync and when I open my Outlook I dont see the Sync button anymore. Any Idea ??? Or I have to use a different methoda to Sync ? I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003 and ActiveSync v4.2.
