Prevent roaming?

I live in an area where my serviceprovider's signals are pretty weak. And my SP also has a roaming agreement with a SP with much better signal in the area. My problem is that my Qtek 8300 often selects the roaming network instead of my main SP.

Is it possible to stop the phone from selecting other networks? I've tried the "preferred networks" settings, but that doesn't help much.

So if anyone has a tweak/hack something to prevent roaming I'd be VERY VERY happy!

The option for roaming is a network issue. You can request that they send you a SIM update to disable this feature.

I do not know of an in-phone option that prevents roaming.

maybe in settings / network, change network from automatic to manual and choose the "right" provider ?

Yeah.. that's just what I've done. My list of prefered networks looks like this:

[X] 24203 (24203)

[X] 24203 (24203)

[X] 24203 (24203)

[X] 24203 (24203)

[X] 242 03 (24203)

[ ] NetCom (24202)

[ ] Telenor (24201)

I don't know why my SP shows up five times in the list, but even tough it's there five times, and the roaming network is placed at the bottom (telenor) with no X, the phone often prefers that.

My SP has only got coverage in Oslo (the capital of norway) and outside Oslo you use can use telenor. So I don't want to give up the posibility to use telenor's net. But I would like the phone to stick with one network when "manual" selection of network is selected. But it doesn't. :/
